Mahela Jayawardene and Angelo Mathews batted excellently on the second day which belonged to the bowlers as 10 wickets fell and the match was evenly balanced.
India humiliated New Zealand in the 1st Test by a huge margin of an innings and 115 runs due to a magical spell of bowling from Ravichandran Ashwin in the game.
