Pillars to level the ODI series for West Indies

West Indies is currently involved in the Five One Day International series which has entered in an interesting phase. India has won the first two ODIs while the Windies came back in the series by winning the third match and the series became live. The Windies can make an impact by winning the fourth match and they have a bright chance keeping in view their fighting spirit.

We will highlight the performance of their key players who can assist them with the victory in the forthcoming matches.

Batsmen to watch out

The elegant Left hand batsman has played 34 ODIs, scored 856 runs at an average of 32.92, the best of 86 runs with six fifties.

The 22-year-old is the top scorer for the visitors by scoring 99 runs averaging 49.50 with the best of 60 runs.
He is a match winner on his day and can turn the tables with his attacking batting.

Marlon Samuels

He is a right-hand top order batsman, an important member of the current team and has played 123 matches. He has scored 2934 scores having an average of 30.88, the best of unbeaten 108 runs with two centuries and 22 fifties.

The 30-year-old has scored 58 runs at an average of 24.00 with the best of 58 runs. He has yet to deliver his best and he might starts performing from the fourth match.

Lendl Simmons

He is a right-hand opening batsman and a utility player who can bowl and keep wickets as well whenever required by the team. He has played 34 matches, scored 1064 runs with an average of 35.46, the best of 122 runs with 10 fifties.
The 26-year-old has scored 98 runs averaging 32.66 with the best of 78 runs. He is a vital member of the team and should not be taken lightly by the rival team.

Bowlers to watch out

Ravi Rampaul

The right arm medium fast bowler is an asset for the team and has proved his worth in a short span of time. The 27-year old has played 64 ODIs, has grabbed 77 wickets at an average of 28.67 with the best of 5 for 51 runs.
He has taken part in two matches of the series, claimed six wickets at an excellent average of 19.83 per wicket with the best of 4 for 57 runs.

Kemar Roach

The right-arm energetic quickie took part in 34 matches and pocketed 53 wickets at an average of 25.56 with the best of 6 for 27 runs.

He played all three matches and got six wickets averaging 23.33 with the best of 3 for 46 runs.

Darren Sammy

He is the Captain of the fighting squad and has played 68 ODIs, managed 49 runs at an average of 44.40 with the best of 4 for 26 runs.

The 27-year old has yet to prove his worth in the series as he just picked one wicket and his team requires him to lead from the front by his own performance.

The lower order of West Indies has given tremendous display of batting in the series. Rampaul played a scintillating innings of 86 runs which created history while batting at No.10, in the second ODI on December 2, 2011, at Visakhapatnam. Sammy and Andre Russell re-assured their all round skills by thrashing match winning 79 runs off 34 balls in the third match on December 5, 2011, at Ahmedabad.

Keeping in view the achievements by their players in the first three ODIs one can expect miracles from the West Indians in the remaining two matches of the series.
