Pakistan, road to success – T20 World Cup 2009

The second ICC World Twenty20 was held in England and Pakistan won the coveted trophy after beating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets at Lord’s, London, on June 21, 2009.

The Green Shirts were led by the prominent middle order batsman, Younis Khan and the team touched the heights in the shortest version of the game. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, nine of them were the regular Test playing countries and three associate nations made their way in the tournament.

Below, we will highlight the performance of the Pakistan team in the event.
